Patrick Zuk is a professor of Russian cultural studies and music at Durham University and Director (Arts and Humanities) of Durham’s Institute of Advanced Study. He is currently completing a study of the role of traumatic experience in shaping the styles and aesthetic orientations of musical modernism. In 2024, Zuk received an honorary doctorate from the National University of Music, Bucharest in recognition of his contribution to scholarship on Slavonic and Eastern European music.
