Internationales Seminar für Analytische Psychologie

Socrates said that the most important thing in life was the care of the soul.

Soul in Greek is psyche and it consists of both conscious and unconscious material. Much of our thinking is in fact unconscious. The unconscious comprises our authentic selves, the self that acts without judgement or prejudice, and thus the actions that are guided by the unconscious are pure in intent, genuine and trustworthy.

The aim of therapy is to make what is unconscious conscious, that is, to know ourselves better, to help us live out our lives in a meaningful way, realize our full potential to become the person we were always meant to be, to be our true selves. The development of the self psychologically simultaneously encompasses our spiritual development.

I am Chinese, born in Australia. I currently work as a psychiatrist in Australia and am also training to be a Jungian Analyst in Switzerland. I have experienced the position of “the outsider” in many countries. I have been doing psychotherapy for over twenty years more, in the Freudian and post Freudian theoretical framework. Beyond ideas of the transference/countertransference, I am adding dream interpretation, active imagination, body awareness and artwork into my therapeutic repertory. I work with people from youth to old age from diverse cultural backgrounds.

I enjoy accompanying people in their voyages to examine their unlived lives (to become more conscious) and finally “to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time” (and to see ourselves in a new light).
